About

From a young age, I've always been fascinated by the process of creating and building things, whether it was constructing elaborate Lego sets, carving bows and arrows from wood, or building tree houses. As my interest in building grew, I became increasingly fascinated with the possibilities of technology and how it could be used to bring my ideas to life. This is what ultimately led me to programming, where I discovered the incredible potential of software to automate and optimize complex business processes. Programming provided me with a new passion and an ideal outlet for my creative and problem-solving skills.

In 2010 I launced an e-commerce website, and during my spare time I started learning programming. I was motivated by it's potential to increase the efficiency of the business. In a couple of years, I've built an inventory management software and a point-of-sale application. With the help of these I've managed to automate the most error prone tasks. The website eventually grew into one of the biggest online tennis retailers in the country.

The power of software inspired me to pursue a career in software engineering, and in 2019, I moved to the Netherlands to continue honing my skills in this exciting and dynamic field. I'm currently working as a software engineer, in the Netherlands. I've learned programming with Javascript, and started building apps with NodeJS and React. I also had the opportunity to work with Scala for a brief period of time. Since 2020 I've been focusing on the Go programming language almost exclusively, mainly in microservice environments. The design choices of the language shaped my thinking around code readability and software maintanability.

In this blog I'm writing about Go, aimed at solving real-world business problems. I'm always eager to collaborate and exchange ideas with others in the industry, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me via email at [email protected]
